Landlord Electrical Safety Certificates

In order to abide to British Standards, all UK landlords must provide an electrical safety certificate before renting it out to the next tenant. Typically, these certificates are valid for a maximum of 5-10 years or change of occupancy, however it is up to the electrician to decide based on test results.

Electrical safety certificate ensures that the electrical wiring of a property is safe and able to remain in service. It is in the landlords interest to ensure the electrical safety of their property and they should use an experienced electrician who is registered to a national body such as NICEIC, which all Cardiff electricians are accredited.

Before an Electrical Safety Certificate is issued, our Cardiff electricians will carry out two tasks:

Electrical Safety Inspection – Which examines the condition of the electrical wiring throughout the property and also examine the safety of the installations carried out.

Portable Appliance Test – Which will be carried out on all electrical appliances such as TV’s, kettles etc to ensure that they are safe throughout the property.
